Dear Valued Customer,

Different Flowers, Different Flavors - No Compromise EVER

  • The goal of Airborne Honey is to provide you - our customer - with repeatable quality and consistent flavor sensations. Once you have decided on your favorite flavor, we want you to be able to repeat your sensory experience each and every time you purchase one of our wonderful honeys!

  • Yes, we have different honey flavors. Just as different flowers have different scents or perfumes, so their nectars have different flavors. Honeybees collect nectar from flowers which they turn into honey. Enough nectar from one source and we have a distinctive honey flavor.

  • The comment we get when people taste our honeys is that they "cannot believe the flavors can be so different". So "how do we train our bees?" you might ask. This is simpler than it sounds!

  • The first method is to use geographic location. i.e. pick an area where there is only one type of nectar yielding plant flowering.

  • Secondly, honey flows can be separated by the time of flowering of the target plant. This is done by removing all the honey from the hives just before the target plant starts flowering, and then harvesting it immediately after it finishes.

  • Thirdly, we use our laboratory to positively match each honey type to its distinctive attributes. We do this with over 15 years of laboratory experience using internationally acclaimed and accepted methods.

  • Our proprietary quality systems use advanced laboratory procedures and tailored software to track each lot of honey supplied from our producers right from the apiary site to the jar sitting on your table. E-mail us with a batch number and we will be able to give you a breakdown of the analysis of each and every batch. We will even be able to give you New Zealand 260 series (1:50,000) map references (www.maps.co.nz) for each apiary.

  • What further proof do you need when we say we mean QUALITY?!

  • When we say no compromise EVER, we mean it!

    Thank you,
    www.airborne.co.nz
